Men?s Saturday AM Prayer Time and Bible Study
What is it?
A time for prayer requests, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship for men
of all ages.
What is its purpose?
To glorify God through obedience to His Word. God has commanded us to
pray and meditate on His Word. James 5:13-16 says: Is any one of you in
trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to
pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And
the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will
raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore
confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be
healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Where does it meet?
At the church in the boardroom behind the office.
When does it meet?
Each Saturday morning at 7 o?clock.
Who should attend this activity?
Men of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
How long does the activity last?
1 hour.
What should I expect if I attend this activity?
In a relaxed atmosphere men get together, submit prayer requests, and
then take turns praying. After all have had a chance to pray one of the
regular attendees takes a turn at leading a short Bible study. There is
usually a lot of open and heartfelt discussion. No one is required to pray
or lead. Usual attendance is 6 ? 12. God answers many of our prayers and we
draw closer to Him each time we meet. Joshua 1:7-9 says: Be strong and very
courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not
turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful
wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything
written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not
commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be
discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
