It has been said that the greatest gift a child can receive, beyond their
salvation, is a Christian family. Our AWANA program here at Word of Life is
dedicated to giving boys and girls that gift.
What is AWANA?
AWANA teaches kids that God is real, that He loves them and that He has
expressed that love through Jesus Christ. The goal of AWANA is to teach boys and
girls of the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. This is the end
result, but the method is FUN!
Each AWANA Club night is comprised of three components: Game Time, Hand Book
Time and Council Time.
Game Time: This is a time for individual as well as team competition.
This competition takes place through circle games as well as some old time
favorites. Every child gets involved and has an opportunity to unleash their
energy.
Hand Book Time: Kids have an opportunity to work one-on-one with a
trained leader. This time is spent learning Bible verses as well as
understanding verses that show how to know God and walk with Him. There are many
rewards for the children as they progress through their workbook. These
awards include ribbons and trophies. There are awards for each step of work
completed.
Council Time: The children gather together for a time of singing,
announcements, award presentations, and most importantly, a practical Bible
message.
Our AWANA Club program at Word of Life is broken down into the following age
groups:
Cubbies Ages 3 & 4 (coed)
Sparks Grades K - 2
(coed)
T-N-T Grades 3 - 5 (Boys
